Highlighting SELF in Employment
Investopedia defines Self Employment as a situation an individual working for himself/herself instead of working for an Employer that pays a salary.
The Major difference between being Employed and being Self Employed is doing it by Your-Self. An Employee Signs a Contract, has contracted hours, an Employer to answer to, deadlines to beat and targets to meet up with. The job role is cut out for them, all they have to do is, do their Job, get paid and hope to retain their Employment. But as we all know, Job Security cannot be guaranteed. So why not Employ YourSelf?
Self Employment, has to do with Employing your-Self and Being in Charge of the Success of your Business. This is not as easy as many assume, it is however Doable. When your Self Employed, your success is dependant on how well you manage your Time, resources and Business. You have to Believe in your Self, take your Self Employment seriously, and be willingly to put in efforts to Stir your Business to Success. I am talking sleepless Nights, Sacrifices both Personally and financially. Could be likened to raising a baby.
In theory, 90% of people will prefer to be Self Employed rather than Employed, but in reality the effort and discipline required is enormous, and cannot compared with the latter.
There is a lot you have to do by your-SELF like Thinking for your-SELF, come up with ideas by your-SELF, make and take decisions by your-SELF. Some days, you are motivated to and other days not so much. However, because its up to you(SELF) you would need to generate the inner strength to keep your-SELF and Business moving forward.
In Self Employment, it takes a while to set up, develop, be fully Established and arrive at the Set objectives.The Growing process can be frustrating, but will develop in you two MUST have Qualities for Success, Persistence and consistences.
It may take a while for your Service/product to sink in the hearts of Customers and gain their loyalty. However, never be Afraid of Starting Small. Stick with it regardless of All Odds then a Miracle will eventually happen if you believe. Believe in your- Self, your Product and Services. Anything and Everything is possible if your Believe. And if its going to be, its going to be up to YOU(SELF). Yes YOU CAN....

*Be Diligent in handling your SELF
*Discipline your-SELF, to avoid distractions.
*Set Target for your-SELF.
* Push your-SELF to the limit, as there are no limits except the once you set your-SELF.
*Create the Right working Environment for your-SELF.
*Set work times for your-SELF, and discipline your-SELF to abide by them.
*Motivate your-SELF by reminding your-SELF why you decide to be SELF Employed.
*Educate your-SELF, Knowledge is power and timeless and shouldnt necessary be done in a classroom. Thanks to the internet and Google.

* You can choose the people you work with I.e Partners, Employees and Investors.

* When you work for yourself there is no Opening or closing time. No set working hours. And definetly no Retirenent age.

* You do not require a business degree or MBA from a fancy University, expertise or even Capital to be a Successful Business owner ( not saying you can't have them either) They are not necessity but rather added advantage. What is Essential however is a Burning desire, your time, determination, focus, persistence and a strong dose of Passion. All of which comes from within YOU.

What Failure "does not"Mean.
Failure, a phrase many of us can relate to: academic failure; failure in your career; the failure of an enterprise; failure in relationships; heart failure; the failure of the current global economy; failure to meet your personal goals; failure to get selected for that promotion. One way or the other, we all have experienced failure of some sort.
For some, it’s been multiple encounters with failure, and sadly many are still bound to fail. This is because, failure cannot be avoided; we are all bound to fail at or in something. Failure cannot be eliminated! Does this mean we are all doomed? Of course not, there is always a way around disaster. We cannot prevent disasters, but we can control our responses to them, and these responses determine how we survive the attack. This is the same with failure.
Failure of any kind is discouraging. You put in the hard work and did not succeed, this does not mean you’re a failure. Failure can knock you down if you permit it. Many of us know what failure looks like, what it feels like. Failure can be recognized from a distance. We know what failure means, but fail to pay attention to what failure "does not" mean.
There are two sides to failure just as there are two sides to every coin. Advantages and disadvantages to every Failure. There is a side to failure that everyone tends to disregard; the side that gives Faith Hope and Hope Faith. The side that’s Keeps on and never gives up until it wins.
That side of Failure was designed to shape us into what we will eventually become. But as mentioned above, the majority of us are blinded to that side of failure, as failure is a plague no one wants to be associated with. Have you given a thought to what Failure "does not" mean?
Here are some guidelines to feed your mind with a different perspective of failure, and to get you handling failure in a positive way:
“Failure doesn’t mean YOU are a Failure... it does mean you haven’t succeeded yet.
Failure doesn’t mean you have accomplished nothing... it does mean you have learned something.
Failure doesn’t mean you have been a fool... it does mean you have a lot of Faith.
Failure doesn’t mean you have being disgraced . . . it does mean you have to do something a different way.
Failure doesn’t mean you are inferior . . . it does mean you are not Perfect.
Failure doesn’t mean you have wasted your life . . . it does mean you have a reason to start afresh.
Failure doesn’t mean you should give up . . . it does mean you must try harder.
Failure doesn’t mean you’ll never make it . . . it does mean it will take a little longer.
Failure doesn’t mean God has abandoned you . . . it does mean God has a better idea”

TIME: AN UNRENEWABLE RESOURCE
Time they say is money. Our principal in the Nigerian grammar school, during my secondary school days would say; ‘he who wastes his time, wastes his money’
The problem people have with that popular English adage is that, how can we relate time with money? How can you say, I am wasting money? Is there any correlation between these two variables?
I would that you will leave those your grammatical expressions and understand the fact that the many ideas you can get when you invest your time in activities that yield results, cannot be over-emphasized, if quantified monetarily.
Time is what determines your value, your worth and your status. Time is the true measure of the viability of whatsoever you are doing right now, even as you are reading this piece.
You may think you know what you are doing, right? We shall see! This is too harsh if vocally stated. But then, there is an iota of truth in it. A man may decide to spend time, while another decides to use time wisely. You spend time, you spend money.
Opportunities are time-bound. They are valuable when seen per time. In every state, every condition, there is need to see how much time you have. Whatsoever has a beginning has an end, that’s what tells us about how important time is.
Time management has been developed by great minds who conceived an understanding of how well this ‘piece’ needs to be managed and also developed time management as a course of study. I personally call time, a non – renewable resource, because it cannot be conserved, renewed or reserved.
You could embezzle some funds to satisfy your endless desires, but I tell you, if you dare to do such with time, you’d find yourself in a big mess. Use your time wisely. Focus on the benefits, relevance, essence or importance of whatsoever you are doing.
Time is all you need to use wisely to cause that change, to correct that mistake, to get to your promise land, and to move to your next level, in business, in family and in life.

Speak UP, Young African Child!
Speak up and be heard because your voice matters!
Right from birth we are always told what to do by our parents, our teachers and the ever vigilant society. They always tell us we are not old enough to make right decisions and sadly they never tell us when we are old enough to make decisions. I believe its time for this ideology to change.
We young Nigerians are intelligent, educated and very capable of making decisions about our future be it about politics, education, lifestyle etc. We have a voice and we will be heard!
Our problems and concerns will not bother our so called 'leaders' unless we point them out. To do that, we must take action and not just advise the decision-makers, but become the decision makers.
I know its easier said than done and in all honesty it's not every youth that needs to be a leader. That been said, it doesn't mean that your opinions are not valued no matter how insignificant they may seem, your voice is worth hearing!
It is our resilience as young people that will make the world and our leaders want to listen to us and this will help us achieve success in any movement or campaign that we partake in. We were not educated to be underdogs but to be leaders and change-makers.
Being involved in decision making in the society is very important to us because these leaders won't be here in the next 30 years and they make decisions that will enrich them now and not for the future!
Having youth representatives when decisions are being made will give us a real sense of belonging and will make us believe that truly we will lead tomorrow. We don't just want to be consulted, but we want to participate. This will benefit not only the Nigerian youth but Africa as a whole.
So Let's Speak Up And Be Heard!!!

Understand your IDEA...

Pep-Talk #beinspired
Without a plan a dream is just a Dream. It is good to dream Big, but you need to have a concrete way to get there. So create a plan, stick to it and accept that it's going to take hard work. When you do that accept that your Dream will can really come true.
Knowing how to start is always the hardest part of the journeys. But if you trust in your talents and convictions, let go of Excuses ad get down to the Business of work, you are already on your way. And remember that baby steps count, as long as you are going forward.
Our fear is of the unknown- whether the unknown within ourselves and about our own capabilities, or about what lies ahead. You need to believe in your own TALENTS before you can get anywhere. And if you can't see completely down the road you're embarking on , that's okay. As Dr Martin Luther King Jr said, "Faith is talking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
